Grand Coteau Heritage & Cultural Centre
is seeking two full-time summer students for the position of Program Assistant
for the period of May 8 to August 25, 2017.

Program Assistant duties include: summer program and event planning, promotion and delivery, guiding school tours, responsibility for summer tourism initiatives; planning, promotion and delivery of projects and programs related to Intangible Cultural Heritage (tasks related to artifacts and history/folklore); various museum tasks related to the collections including documentation, research and maintenance of exhibitions.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication and computer skills, creativity and initiative. Skills related to planning or specific job tasks are also additional assets. Students with education goals related to Education, Art, History and/or Marketing preferred.

A willingness to learn, plan and carry out projects from initiation to completion is essential.

EMPLOYMENT: Director of Wellness and Leisure

The Town of Shaunavon is accepting applications for the full-time position of Director of Wellness and Leisure.

The Town of Shaunavon’s recreational area holds a swimming pool, tennis courts, four ball diamonds, outdoor rink, skateboard park and the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre. The center, which opened in July 2011, holds an NHL size hockey rink and curling rink, and is one of the biggest Center’s ever built in the South-West region of Saskatchewan.  As an active community, the Town of Shaunavon believes that all members have the right to a safe, healthy and active environment. The Town is working hard to ensure that this belief is present for each and every community member.

Reporting to the CAO, the Director of Wellness and Leisure is a senior position working with minimal supervision and is responsible for:
· Budget preparation
· Supervision of staff and volunteers
· Program and event development
· Public Relations
· Administration
· Grant Writing
· Fundraising

The ideal candidate will possess a solid knowledge of sports, culture and recreation - supported by a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field, administration, and three to five year’s managerial experience in a cultural or non-profit organization.  Combination of experience and education may be considered.  Basic knowledge of history of Shaunavon & area considered an asset.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $55,000
