Today, the Town of Shaunavon’s flags have been lowered to half-mast to recognize the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

December 6th was designated The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women following the murder of 14 young women at Polytechnique Montréal on this day in 1989.

This day is about remembering those who have experienced gender-based violence and those who we have lost to it.
