We hope everyone enjoyed themselves over Christmas! With the end of the year upon us, we would like to kindly remind residents who have not yet paid their 2024 utilities and taxes, that the deadline for payment of 2024 utilities and property taxes is swiftly approaching. Property Taxes and Utilities are due ON OR BEFORE Tuesday December 31st, 2024 BY 4PM and MUST be received IN OFFICE on or before this date.
The Shaunavon RCMP would like to offer a new online crime reporting tool for the reporting of NON-URGENT crime matters.
*If a crime is in-progress or the matter is an emergency, citizens are still requested to call 911 to receive the appropriate Police response.*
The RCMP recognize that people have different schedules and not all crimes need to be reported immediately. There is an option for persons reporting a crime to fill out their details on-line and submit them to the RCMP.
About Online Crime Reporting:
Did you know you can report vandalism to your property or car, thefts, or lost and found property through Online Crime Reporting, available at http://report.rcmp.ca. You can use this always-available, simple option if:
- There are no witnesses or suspects.
- Item(s) lost or stolen are worth less than $5,000.
- Vandalized property will cost less than $5,000 to repair.
- There are no items involving personal identity, firearms, license plates or decals.
Reports made via Online Crime Reporting are investigated the same as if they were reported any other way.
When all crimes are reported to the police, police officers get a clearer picture of the types and numbers of crimes occurring in their area. This information helps them launch future police projects, initiatives and education campaigns within the area and the division.
Regular or non-urgent Police complaints can still be filed through contacting the local Shaunavon Detachment at (306) 297-5550 during regular office hours or alternately 310-RCMP (7267).
