The initiation of a voluntary Life Safety Fire Awareness Program in the Town of Shaunavon has been approved by the Town of Shaunavon and the Shaunavon and District Fire and Rescue and is currently in effect.

The Life Safety Fire Awareness Program is voluntary for commercial and industrial assessed property owners within the Town of Shaunavon to utilize under their own discretion. Inspections include a checklist for property owners to go through that consists of recommendations on how property owners may prevent fires within their facilities.

As per the “Owner, occupant responsibilities” under ss. 29 of The Fire Safety Act, it is the property owner’s responsibility to ensure the building is compliant to the regulations in accordance with this Act. The Town of Shaunavon and the Shaunavon and District fire and rescue will not be held liable should you choose not comply with this checklist or The Fire Safety Act.

The implementation of this program is beneficial as it assists owners by providing preventative measures to reduce the risk of a fire emergency. It is recommended that property owners utilize this available free program for their property’s safety.
