The Town of Shaunavon has upgraded their camping system for Jubilee Campground and Shawnee Campground to have an Online Booking System! Reservations open at 9am April 5th for the upcoming camping season, where campgrounds are open May long weekend and close mid-September. The cost for a site is $25 per night.
Reserving a campsite is very simple, just visit www.campreservations.ca and search “Shaunavon” then select a campsite. You may also scan the QR codes found on the Town of Shaunavon Website with your phone or download the Camp Reservations Canada App. This streamline website is user-friendly with step-by-step instructions on how to book. Each campground includes an interactive map to select your campsite, information and policies on the campground, and straight-forward payment options!
“With the uncertainty of the pandemic in the past couple of years, online reservations have become increasingly popular. People like to plan ahead and know for certain they have a place to stay before their arrival, which is what gave us the idea to update our camping system by making online reservations available”, said Town of Shaunavon EDO Lauren Johnson.
Along with the new Campground Booking System, upgrades to the campgrounds themselves will also be underway including the installation of fire pits at Shawnee Campground, and new entrance signs and site numbering at both of the campgrounds.
EDO Johnson emphasizes that weekends where large events are planned in Shaunavon will likely book up quickly, so make sure you reserve your spot as soon as possible!! Events you won’t want to miss this summer include:
- Braydon Coburn Hockey School: July 11-15
- Boomtown Days: July 15-17
- Evergreen Arts Camp: August 8-12
- Stay tuned for other events as the summer unfolds!
*Visitors can be reassured that although campgrounds might fill up on some occasions, Shaunavon businesses offer many great places to stay to accommodate all travelers. Information for alternative lodging can be found on the Town of Shaunavon website.
This system has the option of incorporating “Add-Ons” for campers to give them tourism and activity ideas to do in the community. The Town of Shaunavon is still in the works of finalizing some details to incorporate this feature into the camping system, but residents and visitors can look forward to in the coming months as the system starts to be utilized!
So don’t hesitate, reserve your campsite today! Visit https://www.shaunavon.com/page/campground-information/or www.campreservations.ca for more info and to book!
