Shaunavon & District Fire & Rescue is changing it up this Boomtown Christmas!! SDFR will be collecting donations for the Shaunavon Food Bank during the Parade of Lights. Acceptable Items: Non-Perishable Food, Personal Care Items, Cleaning Supplies, Laundry Supplies or Cash Donation. Gather your items, and give them to one of our firefighters walking during the parade and share the holiday spirit with those in need!
The Town of Shaunavon has contracted Helix Construction for hydrant servicing throughout the community. The improvement of the water quality in Shaunavon was identified as high importance by property owners and the Town of Shaunavon alike. That is why the Fire Hydrant Replacement Program is progressing as part of the Town of Shaunavon’s Water Quality Improvement Strategy. This program will benefit all of Shaunavon’s residents.

Locations where Helix Construction will be replacing the slide gate fire hydrants are going to be completed in SECTIONS. A notice will be included in the quarterly utility bills outlining the affected users whose water services will be interrupted intermittently for up to 3-4 hours at a time while replacement is underway. This work will require depressurizing of the water main line to do the replacement. This means a “Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory” will be issued by the Water Security Agency, and will remain in place until test results deem the water safe for human consumption.
SECTION 1 COMPLETED JUNE 27-30th - Blocks 4, 5 & 6 – 1st Ave East, located on the South side of the alley (aka Railway Ave).
SECTION 2 – COMPLETED JULY 8 *Note: The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory remains in effect until test results deem the water safe for human consumption. Those affected will be notified once the advisory is lifted.

** IMPORTANT NOTICE ** – STARTING JULY 18TH a “Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory” will be issued by the Water Security Agency in the Town of Shaunavon in its ENTIRETY, and will remain in place until the project is complete, approximately 4 weeks, and test results deem the water safe for human consumption. Affected properties will receive a notice in their quarterly utility bill outlining this advisory. Users will be notified when the advisory is lifted on all media platforms including the Shaunavon Standard, CJSN Radio, the Town Shaunavon Website, and on Facebook.
