All of the targeted slide-gate fire hydrants identified in the Hydrant Replacement Program have been successfully replaced! **PLEASE NOTE: The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, as a series of water samples from various sites need to be sent away for testing. Once the Water Security Agency (WSA) receives the results deeming the water as safe for consumption, the WSA will notify the Town indicating it is safe to lift the Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory. Community members will be notified via all media platforms once the Advisory is lifted (Facebook, Town Website, CJSN radio, Swift Current Online Local News, the Shaunavon Standard).
Helix Construction and the Town of Shaunavon team worked efficiently to get the project completed. We thank everyone for their cooperation and understanding during this time. Follow this Facebook Page for updates on the status of the Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory.
The Hydrant Replacement Program executed by the Town of Shaunavon had 2 main goals in place: Public Safety and Water Quality Improvement. With these two goals in mind, this project benefits all users of Shaunavon’s water distribution system.
