Shaunavon & District Fire & Rescue is changing it up this Boomtown Christmas!! SDFR will be collecting donations for the Shaunavon Food Bank during the Parade of Lights. Acceptable Items: Non-Perishable Food, Personal Care Items, Cleaning Supplies, Laundry Supplies or Cash Donation. Gather your items, and give them to one of our firefighters walking during the parade and share the holiday spirit with those in need!
The Town of Shaunavon is proud to recognize the following Shaunavon residents who were awarded The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan) on Friday December 9th, 2022 at a ceremony in Maple Creek!
The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal was created to celebrate the 70th anniversary year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Accession to the Throne, which began on February 6, 2022. The medal is a tangible way for the province of Saskatchewan to honour Her Majesty for her service to Canada. A total of 7,000 medals were awarded at ceremonies held throughout the province during the Platinum Jubilee year.

The Hunter Brothers: JJ Hunter, Dusty Hunter, Luke Hunter, Brock Hunter and Ty Hunter, who were each nominated under the Arts & Volunteer Services category, for their contributions as a member of the Hunter Brother’s Band and for the contributions of volunteering and working with youth and partners in their faith community.
Sharon Dickie was nominated under the public service & volunteer services category for her time as the Mayor of Shaunavon.
Grant Greenslade was nominated under the public service & philanthropy category for his time as the Mayor of Shaunavon. Also for his contributions to originations as a business person in the area.
Kristen Hunter was nominated under the public service & volunteer service category for her contributions to the Living Hope Ranch. A facility that specially worked with teenage females.
Phyllis Edgington was nominated under the public service category for her work at the Cypress Hills Abilities Centre located in Shaunavon.
Joe-Ann Ruetz was nominated under volunteer & public services, for her contributions to the Grand Coteau Heritage & Cultural Centre. (Joe-Ann’s husband, Alan, accepted the award on her behalf).
