On Sunday afternoon, January 15th, Police were called to a rural property near Ferguson Bay regarding a theft of a stolen vehicle from a locked residence. Two adult males were identified fleeing the scene and local residents assisted Police by calling in the location of the thieves.
A short time later, the stolen truck was observed stuck on a rural road in proximity to Simmie. Local Police and the RCMP Police Dog Services were dispatched but the occupants eluded capture having fled on foot in foggy weather conditions.
Shortly before midnight, a local homeowner discovered the two men had broken into his farm residence and stolen some firearms. The two men fled again on foot when confronted but eventually surrendered themselves to Police.
Patrick Ryan PRICE and Tyler James POCZIK of Medicine Hat, AB were both charged with break and enter to commit theft, theft of motor vehicle, mischief and various firearm possession and prohibition charges.
PRICE and POCZIK next scheduled court date will be in Swift Current on January 18th at 10:30 via CCTV from Regina Provincial Correctional Centre.
Police continue to investigate.
