Shaunavon & District Fire & Rescue is changing it up this Boomtown Christmas!! SDFR will be collecting donations for the Shaunavon Food Bank during the Parade of Lights. Acceptable Items: Non-Perishable Food, Personal Care Items, Cleaning Supplies, Laundry Supplies or Cash Donation. Gather your items, and give them to one of our firefighters walking during the parade and share the holiday spirit with those in need!
Age Friendly Shaunavon is pleased to introduce our new Senior Community Resource Coordinator, Vanessa Cruthers. She will be creating a resource booklet for seniors with all the important phone numbers and information that they may require, while living in their own home. Our long-term goal is to assist seniors in finding all the help they may need to live in their own home as long as they wish to. We hope that we can fill in some of the ‘gaps’ in our current health and home care system. We wish to supplement the current system not replace it. Vanessa will also be available weekdays between 9am and 5pm by phone at (306)294-7653. She can assist with finding information or making connections between senior’s and support providers, whether volunteer or for fee services.
We have set up an office at 420 Centre Street, in the professional building next to MNP, in Shaunavon which will be open Tuesday’s between 9:30am and 3:30pm. Drop by for a coffee or just pop in for a visit anytime during those hours, she would love to meet you! We are collecting names of clients who may wish to make use of our services as well as volunteers who wish to help.
