Thanks to the support of Affinity Credit Union’s District Council Funding, a new camera security system has now been installed at Memorial Park.
The camera system has been mounted to the washroom facility and covers the adjacent areas of Memorial Park. Signs have been posted in the area to make users aware that the it is now being monitored by cameras.
The Town is proud to offer high quality facilities and amenities to residents and visitors alike. Maintaining and keeping these facilities functional and appealing requires consistent upkeep and costs for manpower and equipment. In recent years, we have seen an increase in vandalism and poor treatment of Memorial Park facilities, which threatens the condition and viability of these amenities in the long run. The goal of the camera installation project is to reduce vandalism in the hopes of increasing the quality of experience to all users and increase safety through visible crime deterrents.
