The Town of Shaunavon will be pursuing efforts in managing gopher populations this spring to decrease negative impacts of gophers which includes land/property damage, disease transmission, and walking hazards. To accomplish this, Rozol (a grain-treated pesticide) will be placed in bait stations where gopher ingestion of the grain-fed pesticide will cause extermination a few days later.
The Town of Shaunavon believes the safety and wellbeing of our children is essential, and works closely with our local RCMP to provide safety initiatives and execute programs to educate and promote safety in our community! At the April 2nd Council meeting, Council proclaimed May 12th to 18th, 2024 as Bicycle Safety Week in the Town of Shaunavon!

Tepakohp/7 is a multi-artist exhibition which celebrates the stories and experiences of the many Nations of Indigenous Women living on this land we call Saskatchewan. The artists – Melanie Monique Rose, Stacey Fayant, Marcy Friesen, Larissa Kitchemonia, Donna the Strange, Brandy Jones, & Audie Murray - share their stories through their art to amplify, inspire and educate about the diverse relationships and transactions we have to this land and each other.
REGISTRATION OPENS TONIGHT (March 20) for this summer’s iIMAGINE Arts Camp The iIMAGINE ARTS CAMP Registration Form is available online at www.shaunavon.com/gchcc , and there will be copies available tonight at the CPWC. **There are limited spots available, so register early to avoid disappointment! Registration forms may also be emailed and payment made by e-transfer for those who are unable to make it to Registration Night (see the Registration Form for details).
Sunshine and warmer weather has us thinking of SPRING! You know what that means? The Town of Shaunavon’s annual FREE GARBAGE TRANSFER WEEKEND for Shaunavon residents is coming up! Mark your calendars for May 24, 25, 26th and save some trips to the landfill during your spring cleanup and dispose of items for FREE!
Through funding made possible by Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism, the Town of Shaunavon has entered into an agreement to be a pilot initiative for Social Prescribing for Older Adults. This 3.5 year initiative will include the hiring of a half-time (20 hours/week) contract position to implement social prescribing for older adults in the community.
Social Prescribing in Saskatchewan - Living Well in Your Community The Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism (SSM) is pleased to announce that Saskatchewan will join other provinces and countries as they celebrate Social Prescribing Day on March 14th 2024. Social Prescribing Day is a celebration of social prescribing that takes place annually to celebrate the people, organizations and communities who make social prescribing happen.

Online bookings for Shawnee and Jubilee Campground are opening April 2nd,2024 at 9am! Campgrounds are open from May long weekend to mid-September for campers to enjoy, at a rate of $35 per night. Shaunavon is conveniently located near some of the best attractions in the province, and offers a multitude of cultural experiences and attractions for all ages.

SPOILER ALERT – it’s great for more than just bread! She will also bring samples of a variety of her sourdough treats.
