“We are honored and excited to host one of four pre-tournament games for the World Hockey Under-17 Challenge,” said Grant Greenslade, Mayor of Shaunavon. “To bring this caliber of hockey on an international scale to Shaunavon is a tremendous opportunity for our community to showcase our hospitality and our state-of-the-art facilities like the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre. We are grateful to our neighbors in Swift Current for giving us this opportunity and invite our surrounding communities to join us in watching the best young hockey players in the world. The Town of Shaunavon couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this world-class event.”

“This is an outstanding partnership that helps promote world-class hockey across the south west,” said Liam Choo-Foo, co-chair of the Swift Current committee. “We are thrilled the Town of Shaunavon has come on board as a host. This high-end event again illustrates how well south west Saskatchewan promotes national and international events.”
