The Town of Shaunavon is currently seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our staff.
The successful candidate will be able to operate and maintain a wide range of equipment; be capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised; be capable of being 'on call' on weekends; be capable of working in the Town’s Parks and Recreation and Leisure Facilities; may be required to obtain Water and Wastewater Certification.
Rate of pay as per Union Contract. The Town has a comprehensive benefits package available and a pension plan in place.

(a) A minimum of three (3) years experience in the Maintenance I classification, or equivalent directly related experience;
(b) Demonstrated ability to operate all of the following equipment: dump (gravel) trucks, rubber-tired loader, garbage compactor, sand spreader, small & large rotary mowers, tractors and any other similar equipment which may be acquired by the Town;
(c) A general understanding of the maintenance requirements of the above-listed equipment and the ability to carry out these maintenance duties;
(d) Ability to understand directions and work, at times, unsupervised;
(e) An understanding of municipal operations including street maintenance, snow removal, waste collection and disposal, sewer and water works and parks maintenance;
(f) Possess a good working relationship with fellow employees and co-operate with same.
(g) Be capable of being “On Call” weekends or as assigned, if required by Employer.
(h) At the discretion of the Superintendent of Public Works and Utilities, is required to be certified in the areas of Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection at the level equal to the Towns Facility Classification.
May be required to work in the Town’s Recreation Facilities.
