The Town of Shaunavon is thrilled to announce that funding has been secured for our 2023/24 UltraViolet Disinfection Upgrades Project under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) to assist with the eligible costs to upgrade the final two wells to incorporate ultraviolet (UV) light as the source of primary disinfection.

The Town of Shaunavon is pleased to say that we have received additional funding from the Impacted Sites Fund to assist with Phase II of the Environmental Site Assessment at the property located on the corner of 1st St West and 3rd Avenue. The Town of Shaunavon was the first successful applicant for this funding, receiving $36,800 initially for Phase I, and has since been approved an additional $35,174, for a total of $71,974 from the Impacted Sites Fund to help with the costs of environmental site assessments at the property.
The purpose of this communication is to provide an update to residents and municipalities regarding concerns about the shortage of RCMP resources and the impacts of the decision to merge the Shaunavon and Ponteix detachments in order to provide emergency services to the area. Since the retirement of Sergeant Don McPhee on October 6, 2023, the South District has decided to operationally merge the Shaunavon and Ponteix detachments.
