The Hydrant Replacement Program being executed by the Town of Shaunavon has 2 main goals in place: Public Safety and Water Quality Improvement. With these two goals in mind, this project will benefit all users of Shaunavon’s water distribution system. PUBLIC SAFETY - Public Safety is the Town of Shaunavon’s top priority.

The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory issued by the Water Security Agency is in effect starting July 18th, 2022. This applies to all residents and users of the Town of Shaunavon’s water distribution system. This advisory is in place because the Hydrant Replacement Program currently being executed (as an effort to improve the water quality in Shaunavon and ensure public safety) requires depressurizing of the water main lines.

The Town of Shaunavon’s top priority is the safety of the community’s children and citizens. We strive to promote safety through education and awareness of safety practices, and implementing safety measures where necessary. The Town of Shaunavon’s goal is to increase school zone crosswalk awareness by installing flashing pedestrian crosswalk signs at each of Shaunavon’s schools (Christ the King School, Shaunavon Public School, and Shaunavon High School) as part of our School Zone Safety Initiative.
