The Town of Shaunavon has upgraded their camping system for Jubilee Campground and Shawnee Campground to have an Online Booking System! Reservations open at 9am April 5th for the upcoming camping season, where campgrounds are open May long weekend and close mid-September. The cost for a site is $25 per night.

The Nuisance Abatement Bylaw No. 2005-20 has been amended to form Nuisance Abatement Bylaw No. 2022-06 as per Council Meeting on March 15th, 2022. This bylaw has been reviewed and amended to adhere to the core values in Shaunavon’s Strategic plan which includes a focus to maintain “Small-town character”, and to increase beautification through development incentives and programs.
With the winter season coming to a close, so too is the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre skating rink! Sadly this will be the last weekend to get in some skating before the ice is removed. But, wow this has been an amazing season, the CPWC was constantly busy, which was truly great to see!
We are so happy to welcome the warmer weather we’ve been having! Although, this increase in temperature does mean that the Braydon Coburn Outdoor Rink ice surface is now CLOSED for the rest of the season. Thank you to all the volunteers, to Public Works and to the Shaunavon and District Fire and Rescue who helped clear the snow and maintain the ice surface throughout the season!
Provincial regulations prohibit pruning of elm trees from April 1 to August 31 each year. The beetles are most active then, and fresh cuts attract them, increasing the chance of infection. Dutch elm disease (DED) is caused by a fungus spread by tiny elm bark beetles that breed under the bark of dead or dying elm wood.
