With the current weather conditions including strong wind gusts and snowfall, Southern Saskatchewan is currently under extreme weather warnings. Power outages across Southern Sask were experienced early this morning with SaskPower crews being dispatched. Thankfully, power has been restored townwide in Shaunavon and in many of the surrounding rural areas. Thank you to the incredible SaskPower crew members for your hard work and courage while braving these treacherous weather conditions.

The Town of Shaunavon would like to give a huge shout out to the following heroes who helped keep our community safe during last nights devastating fire on Centre Street: Shaunavon and District Fire and Rescue Department, Eastend Fire Department, Shaunavon RCMP, Shaunavon EMS, Shaunavon and District Emergency Measures Organization, Helix Construction, A&B Auto, Subway, Shaunavon Snack Shack, Canalta Hotel, Shaunavon Liquor and the countless volunteers.

Remembrance Day

The Town of Shaunavon will be observing Remembrance Day on Thursday, November 11th, 2021 at The Shaunavon Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 40 wreath laying and service. There will be a march from the Legion Hall to the Memorial Park Cenotaph at 10:45am and the wreath laying ceremony will begin at 11am at the Cenotaph.

SHAUNAVON'S SPOOKY TOUR

On Halloween night (Sunday October 31, 6- 9 PM) take a walk around Town and check out all the BOO-tiful entries in the first ever Spooky Tour! Judging took place on the evenings of October 27 & 28 and the WINNERS are…. Wickedly Lit - 530 1st Street E Frightening Sight - 555 1st Street E

The project to remove the dilapidated building on the corner of 3rd Avenue W and 1st Street W (Lots 18-22, Block 15) will be taking place the week of November 1st. Safety fencing will be installed Tuesday, Nov. 2nd and demolition shall begin Wednesday, Nov. 3rd. The project is anticipated to carry throughout the rest of the week and be completed by the end of the weekend.
