Register your decorated house/yard to be part of this year’s TWINKLE TOUR where you could WIN one of the following titles:

  • Merry & Bright
  • A Disney Delight
  • Holiday Traditions

Twinkle Tour will be on Dec 17th, Judging will be by public VOTE! Make sure your displays are ON Watch Facebook to vote for your favorite decorations!!

Shawnee Campground Christmas

Shawnee Campground Christmas

We welcome Businesses & Groups to decorate a site at the Shawnee Campground to spread some holiday cheer!

  • $20/site
  • Users MUST install a timer for the lights
  • Sites will be first come first serve (only 8 sites available) - SO REGISTER ASAP!
  • Lights will be on display 5-10pm every night

Decoration installation may begin as soon as a site has been reserved and displays must be ready by Boomtown Christmas on Dec. 7th!

Power to the sites will be turned off on Dec. 30th and the displays must be removed by January 16th.

Drop-In Pickleball League: When: Tuesday & Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm & Sundays 2-4pm WHERE: VWC (formerly known as CPWC) $5 Drop-In Watch W&L Facebook page for location and date updates

Walking Program: When: every Monday, Tuesday & Thursday until the end of April

Senior Fitness Classes

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am at VWC lobby. $5 per class - 40 mins. Bring water, shoes and 2 small weights

DISC GOLF

DISC GOLF

Disc rentals for the Shaunavon disc golf course will be available to sign out at the Town Office for a deposit of $40 per set, which will be returned once all discs are returned in good-condition. Discs are available for rent over 3 days. If discs are not returned within three days, the deposit will not be refunded. (Disc sets may also be purchased for $40 each!)

OBJECT OF DISC GOLF

  • To play each hole in the fewest throws possible.
  • The player with the fewest total throws for the course wins!

LAWN GAME & DISC GOLF RENTALS LAWN GAME & DISC GOLF RENTALS

The Town of Shaunavon has the following Lawn Games available for rent:

  • Ladder Golf (currently out of order)
  • Spike Ball
  • Yardzee
  • Giant Jenga
  • Bocce Ball
  • Kan Jam
  • Lawn Darts

All lawn games are available for rent at the CPWC by contacting the Wellness & Leisure Office at (306) 297-3029. Rentals require a $50 deposit per game. Games can be kept for a max of three days and deposits will be refunded when the games are returned in good condition.

Rent some Disc Golf sets and play a round on our 9-hole Disc Golf Course that follows the Benchview TransCanada Trail and Avondale Park. Disc golf set rentals and purchases are available at the Town Office - $40 deposit for a rental, and $40 to purchase. Sets can be kept for a max of three days and deposits will be refunded when the sets are returned in good condition.

KidSport helps children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in sport, so that no kid is left on the sidelines. Click here to access the Individual Application Form

Who is eligible to receive a KidSport grant? • Families that are low-income and facing financial barriers.
• Grants are for children and youth 5 to 18 years of age.
• Amateur sport programs.
What does KidSport cover?
• Sport registration fee
• Children could be eligible for up to, but not guaranteed financial support of $750.00 per child per calendar year (Jan-Dec).
KidSport Guidelines
• Applications must be filled out completely and appropriate documentation submitted.
• Applications must be submitted before the start date of the sport activity.
• KidSport does not fund team fees, camps, travel, tournaments, championships, high performance, sports field trips, specialized training, fitness memberships, swim passes, dance, etc.

• Generally accepted sport activities are those recognized and/or sanctioned by the member organizations of Sask Sport.

Members of The Wellness and Leisure Committee include:

The Wellness and Leisure Committee, in collaboration with its community partners provides and supports the development of a healthy vibrant community dedicated to promote activities and programs within its recreational and leisure services. The committee is committed to include all community members in its programming goals.

As an active community, the Wellness and Leisure Committee believes that all members have the right to a safe, healthy and active environment. The committee is working hard to ensure that this belief is present for each and every community member.
