Me Time is going to KICK things into high gear with our next program partnered with Atomic Taekwondo! (pun fully intended haha) Join Atomic Taekwondo for a fun evening! Learn some history and get the basic understanding of what taekwondo is and why it is important & learn some basic skills and self-defense moves. DATE: Wednesday October 16th TIME: 7 - 8pm LOCATION: Royal Canadian Legion Shaunavon Branch FREE Ages 18+ Atomic Taekwondo is a non-profit sport taekwondo club that aims to provide a positive and empowering environment to students of all ages and abilities in our South West community. We strive to build confidence and strength in our students, while teaching respect, integrity, and the courage to overcome obstacles in order to achieve your goals. Although it is free, we ask that you contact Jana at (306)297-3326 to save your spot so that we can track numbers!

HALLOWEEN READERS’ THEATRE
Join us in bringing haunting tales to life!

  • Sunday October 27 @ 2pm
  • Release your inner theatrical side! We’ll sit around the table and read some spooky, suspenseful scripts that are sure to make your spine tingle. It’s easy to partitipate and everyone is welcome! Come read or come watch.

Who’s ready for another Spooktactular Halloween in Shaunavon!!

Decorate your house/yard for Halloween and register your address to be a part of our annual Spooky Tour! Send your address and a photo of your display to recreation.shaunavon@sasktel.net to be put on the Spooky Tour Map.

NEW THIS YEAR: Winners for each category will be chosen by public VOTE!

Residents embark on a spooky tour on Halloween night and pick your favorite decorations for the 3 categories:

  • Wickedly Lit Up
  • Frightening Sight
  • Spooktacular Halloween for Kids

Deadline to have your address added to the spooky tour map is October 25 at 4pm! A map and link to the voting poll will be available the morning of October 31st!

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am at CPWC lobby. $5 per class - 40 mins. Bring water, shoes and 2 small weights

DISC GOLF

DISC GOLF

Disc rentals for the Shaunavon disc golf course will be available to sign out at the Town Office for a deposit of $40 per set, which will be returned once all discs are returned in good-condition. Discs are available for rent over 3 days. If discs are not returned within three days, the deposit will not be refunded. (Disc sets may also be purchased for $40 each!)

OBJECT OF DISC GOLF

  • To play each hole in the fewest throws possible.
  • The player with the fewest total throws for the course wins!

LAWN GAME & DISC GOLF RENTALS

LAWN GAME & DISC GOLF RENTALS LAWN GAME & DISC GOLF RENTALS

The Town of Shaunavon has the following Lawn Games available for rent:

  • Ladder Golf (currently out of order)
  • Spike Ball
  • Yardzee
  • Giant Jenga
  • Bocce Ball
  • Kan Jam
  • Lawn Darts

All lawn games are available for rent at the CPWC by contacting the Wellness & Leisure Office at (306) 297-3029. Rentals require a $50 deposit per game. Games can be kept for a max of three days and deposits will be refunded when the games are returned in good condition.

Rent some Disc Golf sets and play a round on our 9-hole Disc Golf Course that follows the Benchview TransCanada Trail and Avondale Park. Disc golf set rentals and purchases are available at the Town Office - $40 deposit for a rental, and $40 to purchase. Sets can be kept for a max of three days and deposits will be refunded when the sets are returned in good condition.

KidSport helps children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in sport, so that no kid is left on the sidelines. Click here to access the Individual Application Form

Who is eligible to receive a KidSport grant? • Families that are low-income and facing financial barriers.
• Grants are for children and youth 5 to 18 years of age.
• Amateur sport programs.
What does KidSport cover?
• Sport registration fee
• Children could be eligible for up to, but not guaranteed financial support of $750.00 per child per calendar year (Jan-Dec).
KidSport Guidelines
• Applications must be filled out completely and appropriate documentation submitted.
• Applications must be submitted before the start date of the sport activity.
• KidSport does not fund team fees, camps, travel, tournaments, championships, high performance, sports field trips, specialized training, fitness memberships, swim passes, dance, etc.

• Generally accepted sport activities are those recognized and/or sanctioned by the member organizations of Sask Sport.
