We hope everyone enjoyed themselves over Christmas! With the end of the year upon us, we would like to kindly remind residents who have not yet paid their 2024 utilities and taxes, that the deadline for payment of 2024 utilities and property taxes is swiftly approaching. Property Taxes and Utilities are due ON OR BEFORE Tuesday December 31st, 2024 BY 4PM and MUST be received IN OFFICE on or before this date.
The Town of Shaunavon believes the safety and wellbeing of our residents is essential, and works closely with our local RCMP to provide safety initiatives and execute programs for youth to educate and promote safety in our community!
With the positive feedback received from the Positive Ticketing Program last year, the Town of Shaunavon and local RCMP have decided to reinitiate Project Positivity in 2024! Officers will hand out positive tickets to youths “caught in the act” demonstrating road safety behaviours throughout the community from May through September 2024. Youth who receive a ticket may redeem it at the local business written on the back to receive a small prize or treat, with a GRAND PRIZE draw at the end of the program! To coincide with positive ticketing, Shaunavon’s Regional Bylaw Officer and local RCMP Officers have partnered with the Shaunavon schools to host a Bike Rodeo for youth on May 15th, 2024, in conjunction with Council’s proclamation of Bicycle Safety week May 12th to May 18th . Youth will learn safe bicycle behaviours, and receive fun bicycle safety kits and prizes courtesy of the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute and SGI!
